Preparation and performance of a $SO_{4}^{2-}$/ZrO2 solid acid catalyst

Abstract
A Pt-$SO_{4}^{2-}$/ZrO2 solid acid catalyst was prepared by sol-gel method and adding metal Pt as a promoter and characterized.The effects of hydrolysis pH,aging time,impregnating solution concentration and calcination temperature on performance of the catalyst were investigated.The as-prepared solid acid was used to catalyze synthesis of dimethyl adipate.The results showed that the solid acid modified by Pt exhibited significantly enhanced catalytic activity and stability,with conversion of over 99% and selectivity of over 98% in synthesis of dimethyl adipate.
