The paper investigated the influence of distrib
ution of palladium-gold on kinetic parameters, activity, selectivity, surface a
ppearance of active components, and temperatureprogrammed reduction (TPR) of vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst. Experiment on different catalysts showed that egg-shell type catalyst with surface distribution has better surface dispersion,lo
w activation energy for main reaction and higher activation energy for side reac
tion. As the result, it has higher activity and selectivity than egg-white type
and homogeneous catalysts. TPR results showed that catalyst with heterogeneous distribution has two peaks while that with homogeneous distribution has only one peak.

Effect of alkali metals on low temperature activity of sulfuric acid manufacturing catalyst

The effect of alkali metals (Cs, Rb, Li)and dosage of melt salts on low temperature activity among sulfuric acid manufacturing catalyst,prepared from waste liquid from metallurgy, was studied. The results showed that cesium was the best promoter among the three elements, and appropriate Cs/V ratio was 0.3 to 0.6. When Cs/V ratio=0.6,conversion of SO over the catalyst reaches 42.5% at 410℃, 9.5% higher than that prepared without cesium.
The effect of rubidium on low temperature of the catalyst is less than that of c
esium. Therefore, Cs/Rb ratio in the metallurgical waste liquid should be enhan
ced. Lithium also has favorable effect on the activity when alkali metals are ad
ded in combination. The optimum dosage of lithium is Li/V=0.4, at which SO conversion reaches 46% under 410℃. The incorporating order of lithium also ha
s influences on low temperature activity of the catalyst. It was found that cont
ent of active components has considerable effect on both low and high temperature activity. Suitable alkali-metal/vanadium ratio should be less than 4.5.

Phosphotungstomolybdate heteropolyacid was su
pported onto activated carbon through vaporization. Reaction condition for synth
esis of n-butyl acetate was investigated using the heteropolyacid catalyst. N-
butyl acetate yield of 92.3% was attained under following condition: 5ml cycloh
exane as water-carrying agent, n-butanol/acetic acid=1/1.1(mol)(i.e., 10ml
acetic acid and 14.4ml n-butanol), 1.0g catalyst, with water separation and
recycle, reaction time=2h. The heteropolyacid catalyst remains 74.4% activity a
fter four times of repeated use.

s a hydrocracking catalyst with high nitrogen tolerance. Using 3824 catalyst (t
he “first generation” middle distillate hydrocracking catalyst) as reference
catalyst, the performance test results showed that,under the same condition, the
operating temperature of F4412 was 9℃ lower with equivalent product distributi
on. When inlet nitrogen concentration is 90-110μg/g, average deactivation rate
of the catalyst is ≯0.02℃/d. With its high nitrogen-tolerance, good hydrogen
ation activity and quality target products, F4412 catalyst meets the requirement
of hydrocracking unit revamp for processing capacity expansion, or installation
of new unit for processing various heavy distillates to produce clean fuel and
quality feedstocks for petrochemical industry, while maintaining long stable ope
ration.

This paper reviews the advances in realumination of zeolites and their catalytic performance.According to the properties of realumination solution,realumination methods can be classified as that by basic solution such as NaOH,by acidic solution such as AlCl3 and HCl,and by organic acid solution with hydroxyl group.The realumination mechanism can be sorted as(1)incorporation of aluminium atoms into defect sites;(2);non-framework surface reaction of Si-OH groups or non-intact Si-O-Si bonds;and(3)isomorphous substitution of aluminium atoms for the framework silicon atoms.The property of surface acid of realuminated zeolite was changed and its property for some catalytic reactions improved.

The catalytic activity and thermal durability of Pd-Ce-Ba catalyst were studied.On the catalyst,its ignition temperature for CO and hydrocarbons(HC)is 120℃ and 160℃,and its light-off temperature is 140℃ and 190℃,respectively.Catalytic activity of the catalyst after being treated in feed gas or after times of evaluation tests was superior than that of untreated or fresh catalyst.The enrichment of rare-earth element Ce and alkaline-earth metal Ba on surface of the catalyst and their presence in active aluminium oxide coat promote dispersion,isolation and stabilization of palladium,thus ensure good thermal durability.

The influences of concentration of dipping solution and dipping time on conversion rate of automotive catalyst were studied.Experimental results showed that increase in concentration of dipping solution and dipping time can help increase loading of the catalyst;this effect is evident in low concentration range;when the concentration exceeds certain value,increase in concentration has little contribution to increase in conversion.Appropriate dipping time shall be two or three.

This paper reviewed the the basic design of residue hydrodemetalation(HDM)catalyst and performance of FZC-20 residue HDM catalysts developed by Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum & Petrochemicals(FRIPP),especially the running results of the catalysts in Maoming S-RHT unit.The results showed that FXC-20 catalysts exhibited excellent activity and stability.The S-RHT commercial unit has been running steadily with desirable quality of products,which means that FZC-20 catalysts can meet the demand of refineries for long-term operation.

Combined application of CC-20D(for increasing diesel oil yield)and CA-100(for enhancing octane number and LPG yield)catalysts in a reforming unit at Karamay Pertrochemical Works was described.Run results showed that CC-20D was featured by capacity of considerably increasing diesel oil production,strong resistance to contamination and good selectivity to product,while CA-100 catalyst exhibited strong capacity for enhancing octane number and LPG yield.When CC-20D was used with 3% of CA-100,yield of diesel oil was inhanced by 3.27wt%,yield of LPG by 1.9wt%,overall liquid yield by 1.81wt%,RON of gasoline by 1.7 and MON of gasoline by 0.8,respectively.
